Sorgam was aired on Sun TV between the years 2003 to 2007; this successful serial had crossed over 984 episodes! It was produced by AVM, and it was AVM’s fourth consecutive serial on SUN TV following “Sontham (1999)”, “Vazhkkai (2000-01)” and “Nambikkai” (2001-03) and was highly successful. AVM continued making serials for Sun TV, one after another, following Sorgam, they produced “Paasam”, “Aasai”, “Nimmathi” and “Naanayam” The main audience for “Sorgam” were house-wives; this serial, which ran for a period of 5 years, was highly successful.

This serial became like a daily routine for the women who watched it. Sorgam is a story about a family. Four brothers of that family live with their mother, and suddenly one of the brothers goes to jail, when he is accused of a crime which he did not do. Meanwhile, a woman joins as a “Manager” in one of these brothers’ office. She later starts to torture him and his family. The family than finds out that the manager is their step-sister! And she is here to take revenge on this family which had spoiled her mother’s life. The rest of the story is about what happens to the family. Film Actress Mounika acted in the lead role, Peter Selvakumar was the story writer of this serial.
